I don't know about you, but I feel a little tired of the particular Giants getting the Superbowl benefits. I think it is the Aircraft time to take the premiere spot in New York football. The Leaders have had their day...the particular Jets have been holding out since Superbowl III to be able to win the big video game again. It is the Aircraft time.

My father had a grocery store at the corner of Green and Staniford St., Pietropaolo & Trimarchi Grocery. He owned 102 Leverett St building where my family lived. I was born in the building and was two years old when we moved to Medford. Later the building was taken for a paltry sum. My brother Joseph studied at the New England Conservatory of Music and was a violist in the Boston Symphony until retiring. My sister Joan is two years younger. She majored in French at Regis College and was a teacher. She and her husband own and operate "Le Lyonnais Restaurant" in Acton MA. My background is USAF; computer graphic designer in electrical engineering; and later U.S. Dept. of Housing and Urban Development, multi-family housing in Boston right across the street from West End Building and the museum! I am now retired. By the way in early to 50's to early 60's my family owned a grocery store in Magoun Square Somerville "PETER PAUL & SON". If anyone has pictures of the West End buildings mentioned please let me know. I am sure that many West Enders shopped at my father Joseph's grocery store. My parent's were born in Messina, Sicily. Thank You All! Peter

Hi,
I am looking up my family history and found that my great great grandparents lives at 31 Norman Street when the first arrived in this country from Russia. They were the Star or Starvosky family and they lived there in 1906. Their daughter, my great grandmother, Jennie Star Polchinsky died in 1915 and I am trying to find any information that I can. Does anyone have photos of this address or know descendants of this family?

This is a great site. I was born on Lowell Street, a couple blocks from the Old Boston Garden. My family moved to East Boston, then eventually back to the West End. We lived at 7 Norman Street. We moved to Somerville in1943. Thanks again for a great site and some great memories. It was a wonderful neighborhood.

I was born in 1950 and lived on Leverett Street until 1958 when we were forced to leave. I am a Salamone, a huge family, many also lived on Leverett Street during that time. I have wonderful memories of those years in the West End even though I was only 8 when we moved to Woburn, The many relatives moved to Somerville and Medford and Revere and we, forever, lost that sense of closeness that we experienced in the West End. I have visited the West End Museum several times and also have attended the Women's 2009 Luncheon and the 2009 Reunion but, sadly, it seems that the "younger" West Enders don't attend these events.

Was born back there and as a very young kid till the age of 5 lived happily in the West End, and if my mind is correct it was on McLean Street. Was good to see that the West End was NOT forgotten as they tore it down and we relocated to South Medford.
